Jeff Sterling Jeff is one of the oldest active Karate Students in the US. He was born November 13 1928. Jeff served in the Army for over 20 years in the Army and is currently retired with an Honorable Discharge. During his time in the army Jeff saw much of the world and has served with many outstanding Army units. Jeff started Isshin ryu at the AOKA in 1991 at the young age of 63. Jeff was promoted to Black Belt on December 9, 2000 and then promoted again to Ni-Dan in December 2002. Jeff has been instructing the AOKA Bayonne kids class for over 5 years and is highly repsected for his Isshinryu Karate knowledge and his ability to train the children. Jeff remains in outstanding shape - in many ways in better phyiscial condition then many 20 year olds. He peforms a daily workout at the Bayonne YMCA. It's rumored that the YMCA had to buy additional weights to allow Jeff to perform his standard weight lifting excercises.
