I began the marital arts when I was 5 and studied Shorin Ryu under Bob Herten. While I was in the military, I was promoted to Nidan by Sr. chief Markle who held a 6th degree. He and I studied together until I was discharged in 1988. I moved into Hopatcong NJ and joined a Goshin Ryu academy under Jim Peterson. In 2001, I joined the Isshin Ryu way as a Shodan under Paul Kilduff. I was promoted to Nidan by Mr Kilduff in 2005 and continue to grow as both a Karate-ka and instructor.
